Getting Here
Madarao is one of the most accessible alpine areas in Japan with a direct Shinkansen line from Tokyo to Ilyama, just a 20min drive from Madarao.
If choosing between Tokyo airports, we recommend flying into Haneda. We recommend getting a QR code from Visit Japan Web prior to arrival in Japan to speed up the customs process, and keep it handy when you land.
Shuttle Bus: Haneda Aiport to Madarao Kogen
Seasonal Services: Direct transfers from Haneda/Narita airports are available through Nagano Snow Shuttles. This is likely the easiest option, taking around 4-5 hours. Get dropped off at Madarao Kogen Hotel. If you advise us beforehand, we will pick you up from here.
Bullet Train: Haneda Aiport to Madarao Kogen
Take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho Station (~20 minutes)
Transfer to the JR Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line to Tokyo Station (~5 minutes) Total travel time: ~30–40 minutes
Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Iiyama Station (around 1 hour 45 minutes).
Then a 15-20 minute drive, taxi ride or public bus brings you to Madarao Kogen. Get off at Madarao Kogen Hotel. If you advise us beforehand, we will pick you up from here.

Ship luggage ahead from airport
You can ship your luggage from the airport to us via Yamato Transport. Keep in mind it might take a few days during busy times. You can arrive at the airport and book it in easily, or can pre-book from here. Choose “enter the address directly” and use Oku address below.
